Nickel Based Welding Wire
Product Details
ERNiCrMo-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy welding rod designed specifically for Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. It is ideally used for welding high-performance nickel-based alloys, particularly Inconel 625, Incoloy 825, and other materials subjected to high temperatures and corrosive environments. ERNiCrMo-4 provides excellent corrosion resistance and strength in extreme conditions, making it a preferred material for aerospace, chemical processing, and marine industries.
Other Names:

Appearance / Color:
The ERNiCrMo-4 welding rod has a solid metallic core with a smooth and uniform flux coating. The typical color of the flux coating is light gray to tan, which is typical of nickel-based alloys.
Core Wire Diameter:
Available in 1.6 mm, 2.4 mm, 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, 5.0 mm (custom sizes are available upon request).
Flux Coating:
The coating is designed for low-hydrogen output, ensuring a crack-free and strong weld joint, even in difficult environments.
Packaging:
Typically supplied in 5 kg sealed boxes.
Corrosion Resistance: The high content of chromium and molybdenum offers excellent protection against corrosion in harsh environments, making it ideal for use in chemical processing, marine, and offshore industries.
High-Temperature Performance: ERNiCrMo-4 excels in high-temperature applications, providing excellent weld strength and oxidation resistance in environments up to 1,100°C (2,012°F).
Crack Resistance: The low-hydrogen coating minimizes the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking, making it ideal for welding nickel alloys and dissimilar metals.
Smooth Welding: The rod produces smooth weld beads with minimal spatter, making it easier to achieve high-quality welds with aesthetic appearance.
Versatile Usage: ERNiCrMo-4 is compatible with a variety of materials, including nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, and high-performance alloys.
The ERNiCrMo-4 welding rod is formulated for TIG welding, one of the most precise welding techniques, using a tungsten electrode. This process is ideal for welding thin sections and is used in applications where strong, high-quality welds are required, often in environments that expose the welded material to extreme temperatures and corrosive chemicals.
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding Process: The process ensures a clean and controlled weld, with the nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy providing excellent dilution resistance and high-heat resistance.
In the TIG welding process, the tungsten electrode creates an arc between itself and the base material. The ERNiCrMo-4 welding rod is then added to the molten pool of metal to form the welded joint. The alloy’s combination of chromium and molybdenum helps form a protective oxide layer that resists corrosion, while nickel provides enhanced strength and ductility. The final welded joint has a strong metallurgical bond, capable of withstanding the stresses and high-temperature conditions that are often found in aerospace, chemical, and marine industries.
ERNiCrMo-4 is widely used in welding applications where corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and reliability are critical. Common applications include:
Aerospace Industry:
Welding of turbine blades, reactors, and jet engines that are subjected to extreme temperatures and aggressive environments.
Chemical Processing:
Used to weld tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, and other equipment exposed to high-temperature chemicals.
Marine and Offshore Applications:
Perfect for welding marine turbines, offshore drilling equipment, and corrosion-resistant structures exposed to saltwater and harsh weather conditions.
Power Generation:
Ideal for welding components of nuclear reactors, boilers, and gas turbines that must perform under extreme temperatures and high-stress conditions.
Food and Beverage Industry:
Suitable for welding equipment that comes into contact with corrosive substances in the food industry.
Superior Corrosion Resistance: The high content of chromium and molybdenum provides exceptional resistance to corrosion and oxidation, making it ideal for welding in aggressive environments.
High-Temperature Strength: ERNiCrMo-4 is perfect for welding materials that will be subjected to high temperatures, such as components in aerospace, chemical, and marine industries.
Excellent Weldability: It produces clean, smooth welds with minimal spatter, ensuring aesthetic and strong welds.
Crack-Free Welds: The low-hydrogen flux coating ensures that the welds are resistant to cracking, even in high-stress environments.
Wide Range of Applications: ERNiCrMo-4 is ideal for a variety of industries, from aerospace and power generation to chemical processing and marine.
